Stanhope Gardens is situated on West End Approach, Ulleskelf, a small village in the Selby District of North Yorkshire, four miles from Tadcaster on the River Wharfe.
The name Ulleskelf comes from the Scandinavian personal name Úlfr, while
kelf derives from the Old Norse word for “calf”. It was written in the Domesday Book as Oleschel and Oleslec.
The village benefits from close proximity to the A162 and A64 with access to the major road network of the A1, M1 and M62. Leeds, York and Selby are a 20 minute drive away and the B1223, which runs through the village and onwards to Ozendyke, Ryther, Cawood and Wistow, provides an alternative route to York and Selby.
Transport infrastructure includes a rail station 200 yards from the development providing links to Leeds, York and the north-west and a bus service between Tadcaster and Sherburn-in-Elmet.
Primary age children generally attend school in Church Fenton, a free school bus being available from Ulleskelf to Kirk Fenton Primary School. The village is in the Tadcaster Grammar School catchment area and also has a bus for Secondary age children. There are other excellent schools in the area some of which have transport from the village.
Stanhope Gardens is a development by West Farm Developments, a collaboration between GEM Holdings Limited and Grimston Park Estate. The development will offer quality homes for country living, in an idyllic location. Manning Stainton are acting as the Estate Agents for the project and will be handling all enquiries and reservations through to completion.
